Projects

PONT has a number of projects that enable it to follow the community twinning that we have set out in our objectives. The diagram below shows the project areas that we would like to be involved with at present and in the future.

We have found that to deliver the Millennium Development Goals we need to twin all areas of life in our community. The projects that we are currently involved with are:-

  • Schools from Rhondda Cynon Taff with Mbale district,

  • Nurses & GP services linking with Primary Health Care in Mbale

  • Hospital Consultants and technical experts developing links with Mbale district hospital.

  • Churches in Pontypridd linking with churches in Mbale and developing closer links

  • Engineering and Academics linking with groups in Mbale to improve facilities.

  • Media, Merchandise is to help inform people about the project and let people have a piece of Mbale.

  • IT support, Administration and Accountants are all important to ensure that the projects are well managed and any funds raised used efficiently. Along with the world becoming smaller.

Projects under development

  • We are currently looking at developing training links between our Police force and Mbale police for training purposes.

  • We are looking at establishing links between our Ambulance and Paramedic Services with Mbale.

  • We are looking at road improvement projects in Mbale.

  • We are developing a carbon offsetting scheme, including more efficient cooking stoves and homework clubs run by solar lighting.
